What are the benefits of using night vision for airsoft?
Range: night vision goggles let you spot opponents at greater distances in low light conditions. The range of every device varies, but anything up to 100 yards should be sufficient for most airsoft games.
Manoeuvre: Night vision lets you move around, inside and outside in complete darkness. Nightfox’s 1x magnification goggles are perfect.
Intel: Your own night vision goggles let you spot players on the opposing team who are using IR illumination. Nightfox devices always let you turn the IR illumination off, so you can scan the battlefield for enemy IR without giving away your own position.
Review: Some Nightfox devices allow you to record, so you can review the footage later to evaluate how your battle strategy worked out.
What’s the best night vision for airsoft?
Here at Nightfox, we would recommend the Nightfox Cape for use during airsoft games. The Cape is ideal due to its ‘low glow’ 940nm infrared LED, which gives off very little ‘red glow’ in comparison to other infrared LEDs. This means it is less likely to give your position away.
The Cape also features replaceable lens caps for both the IR bulb and the digital sensor - there to help protect the optics in Airsoft matches - and a GoPro-style helmet mount. You can watch a review of the Cape here, or check out our video instructions here.
